Dear

Way to go, for our exchange today!!!!
As the host, we really owned it!
&your playing's really good :D

But

Don't be too proud.
Infact, take this momentum and put it in your sectionals/normal band practices!
And push down our grade to at least a 2.9 for now!

I hope you learn from your mistakes and also the other band's mistakes!
And most importantly, you know exactly on which areas you have to improve on.

As what Mr Faizal had said this evening during the debrief, our notes are all cleared (means no wrong notes).

Your task now is to work on better intonations!
Solution : Take a tuner, long notes, tune every note. Do the tuning of the cords with your section/ensemble.

WE CAN DO THIS!
WE'LL DO THIS TOGETHER!
KEEP GOING!
*smiles*

&THANK YOU
  • Kranji
  • Dunearn
  • Geylang Methodist
  • North Vista
  • Pasir Ris
  • Anderson

Hi,

We (the Majors&I) are trying hard to think of a series of motivation for all of you~~~

Apparently,

nothing can be done without teamwork and focus.

And yes,

you CAN still do your studying while juggling with band.

Excuses like "oh i need to study." "i got homework" and you decided to not go for band.

Nonsense okay.

What about the rest?

they need to study too, they got homework too.

Nobody is a star here.

We Are Equals. (but of course the majors cannot be equally equal to you guys. There's reasons.)

The point is,

Nobody is to leave any bandsmen behind.

With our GOAL being appointed to us,

that's how high we have to achieve.

Together.

By the HOD of CCA, Principal and the school.

Have that sense of urgency.

that WOW factor.

that Determination.

Endure.

We've seen all of you endure through your marching assessment;

Those blisters,
those aching muscles,
those tears,
those complains from the school,
those hours of a heavy tiring morning,
just marching,
over
and over
and over again.

Hard? Tired?

but We had our fun though, didn't we, Band?

we all had that positive mindset. That's what made us tick.

Now bring back all your 'marching assessment' 'positive-mindset' into the bandroom.

Try again
and again.

Afterall, its NOT the quantity of the sectionals hours you put in.

It's the Quality.

What's the point of practicing for 3hours w/o focusing and improving?????

We are all tired. Yes i know. We all know.

Who aren't?

Woodwinds, who's fingers are not aching here?

Brasses? Who's lips are not painful here?

You tried; yes.

Not enough.

Try Harder.

We can do it. We know you can do it.

Every
Single
One
Of
You.

All we need

is

Teamwork.

We'll start with ourselves.

We'll try to dig out more time to ourselves to talk to all of you.

Our plan ;
Majors will talk to the band as a whole.
I will steal section by section.
And I'll motivate. and try solve some of your problems that has got to do in concert formations.
Azmir will do with the brasses.
I'll do with the woodwinds.
I won't bite.
But i know what i want.
(i warned).

First session starts tmr.
with the today's-mia-people. You know who you are. We'll start with you. you'll get the taste of it firsthand. '

This is just something from me. Once in a while when the majors are free, they'll try to post something here too.

People,

We can do this.

It's all a matter of...

Having the correct

Mindset.

With love but you all made my life miserable sometimes,
Junisa.

RE: Band Schedule.

What the sirs had said, after school dismissal, you are to have your sectionals from Monday to Wednesday. 1Hr minimum ; 2+Hrs maximum. Nobody is to leave for anywhere before an hour. The majors and I will make up a system/paperwork where you yourself will key in the time of arrival and the time you leave & that piece of information will help us guard your attendance for sectionals.

After today, every saturday will have band practice from 0900 - 1700 hrs (9-5pm). Just like how it has been during our marching assessment rehearsals. Attendance will be recorded and yes, it's compulsory...

As you can see, i have laid out all our practices in the month of January, it is on the left-hand-side of the blog. Our only break will be sundays and CNY.

However, studies is still something i personally am worried about. So band members, please try and put in more effort in your academic part ! We can always organize a study group and we'll have... a study group ! Or you can always come for motivation and questions to the seniors, I'm sure they are more than willing to help, don't be shy !

This blog will be providing you with all the updates, so do pop by and take note.
