Good evening bandmates !
Tomorrow will be the start of our September holidays, please be reminded that we will be attending the concert next Tuesday, and band pracs on next Thursday and Friday.

For those who are planning to go overseas over the November and December holidays, these are the dates that we will be having breaks :
16th - 23rd November
7th - 14th December
If you are going overseas, please do try to book your trips on the dates stated. Lastly, drink plenty of water and rest over the holidays, hydrate yourself so that you do not fall sick! (: P/S: Do remember to complete your homework too! -CARINSIM.

Hi band.

this will most probably be my last post in this blog T.T haha! well, congratulations to the new exco members . All the best and bring the band to greater heights! A brand new start for all of you! (:
As u guys can see from ur current drum major , band major and secretary's post , i am sure they are ready to lead the band~!! But inorder for that to happen, members, please co-operate wif them so that the band will continue to move on. (: i believe u guys can do it!

Well ..

Band, after 1 year of leading the band wif Syazani and Shi Xiang, i have really learn alot from all of you. And i am glad that i can take the chance to know all of u well. (:
Though we faced alot of challenges and difficulties, esp. this year SYF , i am glad that we managed to overcome all the obstacles.

Now, after reading all the post that i have been posting from the start of the day when i got my secretary post till today, it brings back nostalgic memories. Those memories are PRICELESS.

I noe that band is a very hectic CCA whereby there are many practices a week but most of u turned up! it lightens my work eventually. ^^ thanks guys for all of ur understandings! Through out the mini syf which is over afew weeks ago, i am sure that have taught us a lesson that without practising and having full attendance for every practice, we cannot get things done.
Although the Sec 4s and 5s have already stepped down, but i am sure they will be willing to help the band. If anyone of you have any problems about band , please feel free to look for them instead of avoiding the problem until the problem gets worse. I noe every year, someone will surely have problems but could not find a solution to it.

Not only band, haha! Studies are important too! Do pay attention in class and hand in all ur homeworks on time and score well for ur exams!
To Joel, Pei Leng and Carin,
Now u guys have taken over the band, do help one another in improving and maintaining the standard of the band :D

Gd'morning awesome bandmates! Congratulations to those who got their post. And yes, this is just the beginning, we should really start working extra hard from today onwards. We've come so far so yeah, don't let anyone down. At first I was thinking, 'Why me, why chose me to be the Drum major? Can I even make it? omg. It can't possibily be me'. But right now, this important role has been assigned to me and I've got no other choice but to take up the challenge and even strive harder to keep the band as one, and of course maintaining the band's standards of discipline, responsibilty and teamwork. In order to achieve these, I must first change myself. My attitude, my character and my behaviour. This includes everyone in the band alright! Without you guys, the band can't even work. So we are all equally important. Be it what post you got, remember that we're in this together and we're all equal. I strongly believe that Teamwork is the key that makes everything possible. Know when to work and when to play. When you make a mistake, learn from it and change it. As we all know, it's not an easy task balancing well between Band &studies, I'm very sure that if you face any difficulties, the teachers ,our conductors, our lovely alumni and our dear seniors are very willing to help! Whatever people say/do, don't let anything affect you nor bring you down. Just like what our Band major, Peileng said, 'Take it positively!'. There's always room for improvement so what for wasting our time gettin angry/upset over what people said. Prove to them that we can make it! I know this is not easy. Step by step, put in your best and we'll get what we deserve one day. Good evening band!

To become the band major of Yuying Concert Band is a wonderful opportunity for me. However, I fully understand that this job would not be easy to accomplish. Being in a band is not an easy feat, it requires commitment, discipline, resilience and teamwork. There would be times you would think of giving up, yet we should all learn to commit ourselves and not back out whenever troubles come. Band has plenty of practices and long practice hours, and we need to manage our time properly for our school work and personal life. During Saturday practices, I would sometimes feel 'Why am I here when all my friends are all at home sleeping?' However, when I see all our teachers and conductors doing their upmost effort to groom us, to teach us, all the hours I've been in band are worth the time and efforts spent. We need to improve on our discipline, to do that, we first need to have teamwork. When we are working together as a band, we could improve ourselves by accomplishing more achievements and overcome more obstacles rather then the band staying at a level or the standards may fall. Our goal now is to maintain or better our achievements, when we all work together as a band ,we would definitely be able to fulfill the goals. Whenever we receive criticism, we should take it positively, and further improve ourselves because there will never be a stage where we are perfect. Believe in yourselves! We shall be Like An Eagle, We Soar & Rise! One Band One Sound!!!

Good evening Band! Firstly, Congratulations to the new Excos! And as you all know, the Sec4s & 5s will go for their O levels & N levels break, So we must not be so dependent of them. Also, being in the band requires a lot of commitment and resilience, at times when you feel like 'why am I here suffering?' , think about why you joined band in the first place, it may be because you want to be with your friends, or that you wanted to learn music. Whatever the reason may be, I'm sure everyone of us have developed the feelings for band music and your instruments. Because everyone of us are capable of doing what the seniors and alumni have been through. Do not let yourself have the feeling of regret when you give up. Some of you may think that having to go for sectionals and practices are time consuming. But think again, why does some people play better than the others? It is not because they are smarter, it is because they practice more than the others. Do not give yourself a reason to quit, but give yourself a reason to continue. As a band, We often have to work hard together to achieve a common goal, this is where teamwork is important. Do not let words of discouragement like 'Band is a waste of time.' put you down. Let's aim to have discipline better than any other CCA, good attendance and most importantly, GOOD ATTITUDE! Your attitude towards things most of the time determines the end product. When Mr Faizal and Mr Phua scold you, do not take it personally. Always reflect on your mistakes and change for the better! Endure and enjoy through every process, your feeling of achievement will be sweeter and better than anything could be.

Lastly, You guys must also maintain your studies. Do not let others have a chance to criticise yourself and our band.

Temasek Junior College Symphonic Band is presenting their annual concert prelude 31. It will be held in NUS, Yong Siew Toh Concert Hall, on next Saturday 21/5/11, 6pm. Prices for the stall seats will be $12 and the circle seats will be $15. They will be playing : The colours of tali, terra vulcania, hitomi wo tojite , invictus and more. Tian Fu will be playing and he hopes to see Yuying Band Members there! GO SUPPORT! :D Those who are going, SL take note of the number of people going and report to me or the Majors.

HELLO BAND!

Sorry for not posting for more than 1 month? I hope u guys are doing well ^^ and hope u guys will do well for MYE. Just a reminder, speech day will be in July and there will be band prac after MYE i suppose. All this band prac will focus on the investiture which will fall in June as well as the Speech Day . All the Sousa march songs and other slow march songs. Sec 4s please teach the younger ones all these marches as they have never experience how speech day is like due to the 100th anniversary celebration last year in the Esplanade. As u all know, theres common test going on this week for the upper secondary students. 30th dec is the day where we know who will get one of the popcorn awards! I am sure all of you are excited! Inorder for us to know, i will need each of you to write the popcorn nominees on a piece of paper and hand in to the majors next monday. The categories are, yandao,chiobu,mc king/queen, MIA, CNN (kaypo), joker, blur king/queen,slacker, cry baby and lamer. And another reminder, please remember to bring 5 dollars for the yishun-peixin primary school concert tickets next monday as well. Lastly , to end off this post, please remember to prepaer a gift for the gift exchange on the 30th december. Alright, take good care of your health (: Bring more tissues on the 30th december!!! :P

HELLO BAND! welcome back!!! Hope u guys had lots and lots of fun there! :D
Day 1,
Flight to Tokyo! everybody seems to be so excited while packing their check in instruments!

Day 2,
Day of Arrival! Had full day cultural and history immersion tour! Our work in the University Instrument Museum is to write 500 names of instrument and the year etc. Next, we head to the Tokyo National Museum and then to the Toyota University Design Showcase! And then we had lunch and dinner at a local restaurant then we check in at Harumi Grand Hotel! (:

Day 3,
This is the day that most people looked forward to!.................................
FULL DAY DISNEY SEA!!! WOOHOO! :D
Can tell that everybody is so excited from all of ur facial expressions! :D

The band had lots of fun in DisneySea all the way till 8.30pm. Then watched fireworks before we head back to the hotel at 8.45pm.

Day 4,
A full day Music Exchange/workshop
Had workshop wif Mr Yasuhide Ito! The Sls mus have taken down many notes and hopefully our playing will improve (:
Then we depart to Kunitachi College of Music at 11am.
had lunch at 12pm then had clinic wif the KCM students!They are awesome dun u agree? :D
Had rehersal for the concert until 6pm then we headed back to the hotel.

Day 5,
Another full day music programme!
Can see the tiredness of everyone.
Had exchange performance wif KCM junior school and had lunch with them before we head to KCM.
Had concert there! Can see the sense of satisfaction in everybody's face. (:
Then had dinner at 6pm before we head back to hotel.

Day 6,
A full day workshop and oso, a day where we did not behave well!
we had workshop wif KCM professors and lunch at the KCM canteen. Then we had clinic by Prof. Toru Miura. Alot of us were very restless and tired and Mr Faizal was very angry with our attitude.
After that we depart KCM at 4.30pm and reached hotel at 6pm.

Day 7,
Full day flight back to singapore. All of us were very sad to leave Japan! :'( .

Hopefully, this Japan Trip will not be a wasted trip for all of us and Sls, whatever information u have gathered from the exchanges are to be implemented during sectionals and hope to see the change in our playing. ALL THE BEST! CHEERS! (:

Now is the start of the holiday for the sec 3s , we should ought to spend more time focusing on our band songs alright? Spend some time to study too for the sec 3s. 10% study , 90% instrument! :D! And as u all noe, Mr Faizal wants to see improvement. Syazani have been sacrifising his mornings to go to school jus to open the band room for us to have sectionals , so please, spend the time wisely. And remember wad Mr Faizal told us some time back, I can let u have sectionals for 2hrs or more. But if u dun take the sectionals seriously, no matter how many hours of sectionals , u will not improve. But if u were to take the 1 hour of sectionals seriously and really focus on the parts which u are not sure of, u will improve and the sectionals will be effective.
Next, many of u are sick.. Please drink lots of water and eat more fruits and vegetables and rest well!

Okiie dear yuying concert band members ,

After one year of leading the band with tianfu , I really had learnt alot from you guys !
Though we had faced lots of difficulties for the past few months , I'm glad that we managed to overcome as a band !
You guys are just simply great ! Though you guys complained that band practices are tiring , boring , don't feel like coming for band ,
but in the end , you guys still turn up for practices ! Thanks for your understanding ! We really went through alot alot ...
and all these turned out to be unforgettable memories spent with you guys . Thanks for letting me know what is love , true friendship and many more ! Well , now the new leaders had taken over the band , do help one another in improving and maintaining the standards of the band ! What's our next aim ? Year end concert & japan trip at the end of the year ! OMG !
Do your very best and reach out for the skiies yah ?
Whenever you guys have a problem , face it instead of avoiding it ! Find ways
to solve the problem . Have a positive mindset in whatever things you do ! Yeah .

To be in a band,we need cooperation and teamwork. Many times, we will think that it may be a waste of time to come for practice but it is needed to put up a good show.The process of this preparation is enjoyable yet tiring, nonetheless we have to ENDURE.When it comes to performance day, you will see the band smiling and the audience giving a standing ovation. That is what you all would like to hear, right?

My vision for the band is to improve our level of discipline and commitment. The discipline can be better.We need teamwork.If everyone do their part,we can achieve more goals than before.We choose the decision.If we achieve that goal, its ours. It’s the bands achievement. No one else. If we do not achieve, people will be disappointed with us.

Over the years, band has taught me discipline,and resilience.Although at times we feel like giving up,we just have to push that little bit to achieve that goal!In band,we don't just play music,we bond with one another to raise our standards.Becoming better everyday.It just needs practice and tremendous commitment from each and everyone of us.If i get a scolding,I won't take it personally.I will fix my mistakes and become better.Remember that what we do is never 100%.Maybe to the audience but not to the band and conductors.Even if its rehearsal u have to put 200% effort so that we can improve.Practice makes perfect!We can soar to greater heights.Its not impossible.Like Egan said,impossible is nothing.ONE BAND ONE SOUND!!

Being inside the band is not like being in any other CCAs inside the school,our schedules are more then often more packed with events and shows to prepare for throughout the whole year. During this time,many of us will complain and say things like 'why am i here going through all this training when my friends in other CCAs get to sleep at home?' But as long as we persevere through the training and perfect our skills, put up a great show and we feel good with ourselves as we had achieved something for the both the band and ourselves.

Our seniors had set the standard when we had clinched the Gold Medal award for the previous SYF, our goal now is to maintain that standard or better still,achieve better results for our next up coming SYF at 2011. If everyone is willing to work hard, help each other out and to stay committed to the band, this goal is within our reach.

Being inside the band, there will always be a want to quit the band because we feel that it is too tiring and stressful, but as long as you have the courage to stay inside the band, take the next step and push yourself to the next level, the goal is actually a manageable task to handle. When I make a mistake and get scolded for it,I don't just get frustrated with myself and do nothing, I think about what went wrong and try to fix my mistake,making sure it does not happen again. Remember what Mr Phua always said,there is always a next level! No matter how good we think we are or how long we had practiced, there is always room for improvements! Practice hard and play hard! With the right positive mindset and attitude we can push ourselves to a limit we had never reach before! Yuying Concert Band,Rock on with your music!!

Hellos Band!

Hope everyone had lots of fun yesterday with the sec ones! I'm sure you guys enjoyed a lot
during last night's concert. Of course, you guys should take the opportunity to learn from the concert(band). Well, there is still one more concert to go. Honestly, I think it is a great opportunity to bond within section and friends, and LEARN! Lastly, have lots of fun!!!

I'd guessed you guys had discovered someone's "secret" . HAHAA.
& everyone burst out into laughter last night. Alright, back to the point. Hopefully,
the band will continue to be bonded. Let bygones be bygones ....

Now the most important thing is our SYF MARCHING ASSESSMENT! Forget all conflicts
and from now, just focus on one thing which is, "Clinching The Distinction Award" . Since everyone have the same goal, why not work together as a band and go for it, am I right?
Remember, we can't march into the stadium with one empty slot in the block! I heard from all of you that you all want to clinch the distinction, but you all need to prove that you guys really want it. Actions prove louder than words! You guys cannot just talk and do nothing. I know all of you had already try your best, but the sirs need more of all of your effort, focus.

The sirs, teachers, alumni had done their part, what about you guys? We need 100% focus. We cannot afford to have blank files and some of you still forgetting your steps etc. Everyone had done their best, what about us? so we really need to prove to them that we can do it! We cannot let them down! We need to have the team spirit which is not enough right now. All of you observe, during practices, who is the one counting? We need to count as a band. In addition, we need the whole band to have the sense of urgency to do things quick because there's really not enought time left. We are just left with 33 more days and that is not considered as "LONG".

For the graduating seniors this year, I thanked you guys for taking the effort to come for practices. I know most of you guys are concerned, worried and being stressed up about academics. We just need to concentrate on SYF, you all know its important to us! So lets put in 100% focus and everything into it. After all, it is our very last SYF. Let these memories be engrave in our mind. Remember "TEAM GEIST" ? So let's do our very best! I'm sure you all do not want to disappoint the sirs and alumni right? For the sec twos and threes, just put in 100% effort and FOCUS! Must FOCUS! Please come for sectionals and practices often. This SYF is really very important! If the seniors can do it, I'm sure you guys can. Also, all of us need to work on our weak point and we cannot always let the sirs repeating about our sloppy turns. Keep on working on it, I believe that all of us can do it! Remember, 1 BAND 1 SOUND! :D

Hopefully, this can be serve as a reflection to all of us.

Also, this week will have band practices and band camp. So, please drink more water, rest well. Keep yourselves healthy and attend for all practices. We cannot afford to have one of us falling ill. Do take care! :) I will be updating the camp list and details soon.

Evening Band!

How's your day today? Well, today's sectional supposed to be compulsory yet
many did not attend today. I hope there will be better attendance for
next week. We are just left with 8 practices!!! & do you guys know how precious
these practices are? We have yet to do many things, so hopefully, I hope there will be
FULL Attendance! It's not the time to play but it's the time to work together as one
to make this concert a success. As you guys can see, 8 practices is not alot you know.
It is equal to 57 hours of practices. So lets work together as ONE, alright?

There will not any sectional this week of blackout dates. So, those who did bring
your instruments/mouthpieces home, please at least try to "sectional" for half an hour per day.
Honestly, it helps you not to lose your embouchure! *winks!

After this week, next week practices will be kind of tight & "intensive" as our concert is just
round the corner. I hope to see good attendance for the next few practices. Since our concert is near, please be in the right mind & behave in the right attitude.

FOCUS! :D

Believe me, we gotta focus in order to succeed. Be alert & responsive for these few practices.

HELLO!!! How was your day? Hope it was great!
Haha:) Okay enjoy your break but take VERY VERY GOOD CARE of yourself!
I do not want to see any of you fall sick ok?
Anyway, do not forget to practice your instruments at home. For tuba, euphonium and trombone, buzz your mouth piece at home(at least half an hour per day)

Yi shun primary school will be having practice from monday to friday 9am to 5 pm.
Feel free to come down and have your sectional.
See, while your are having your break. The conductors are working so hard. So learn to treasure your break time.

Sls, also please use the break time to organise your sectional outing.

We left last two weeks of practices left before the concert, please put in your 200% of hard work and forcus during the practices!

Take care of yourself and drink lots lots lots of water and eat more vegetables and fruits.

Use the break time to complete your homework also, I don't want to hear complains from the teachers of band members not doing their homeworks.

Please be reminded that there is band tomorrow. Fall-in at 2.45pm SHARP!
Please be punctual too :)

To all SLs, please know your section strength before falling-in. Not forgetting, please also ensure that there is good attendance tomorrow. I hope everyone will reflect on what the sirs had said to you guys during the camp. Of course, after reflecting, I hope you guys will take the initiative to help to solve this problem. It is not just the SLs' responsibility, but it is everyone's. So, please try to help. Remember that whatever problem we are facing, we had to overcome as a band instead of a solo. What makes up a band? Is all of us with the teachers and sirs working together! A solo do not make up the band. So please, everyone is important! I hope the absentees will come back for practices.

Lastly, Our concert is just round the corner and we are just left with 33 days, 13 practices! Do you think we can catch up with everything in time? YES! I believe that we can do it unless everyone is going to cooperate with us and continue to FOCUS! Without a focus mindset, you guys will not be able to catch up with everything. So, yeah. FOCUS!!! Good Evening Band!
Exams are over so now you all have to fully concentrate on band :)
There a few things that I would post about;

Firstly, SLs, please remember to organise at least a section outing by november.
Take section photos and ensure every member appears in the section photo and submit it to both sirs.
*Sec fours/fives to be included.

Secondly, The ITE Band is having a concert on 7 Nov. It will be from 6-8pm and tickets will be sold at $5.
By the way, our alumni, Anisah and Sonia from the percussion section will be performing so please support themif you can. Inform Tianfu if you want to go.

Thirdly, Those who owed MCs/PLs, please be reminded to bring it by this thursday. As usual, fall-in at 3.15pm on this Thursday.

Lastly, Hope you all have done well for your exams!!! On behalf of the band, I wished all sec fours/fives all the best in their "O" levels! GOGOGO! You guys can do it! :) Not forgetting, please do take good care of your health. Drink more water and rest well! Thanks!

Konnichiwa; Didn't want to bother Amanda into posting this but this is really quick and it this goes to the band graduates (S4&5).

Sec 4s&5s, this coming Thursday, please bring your full set of Band Uniform. We have a... well, formal photo taking, in case you guys happen to not get the message and drop here.
Report in the band room after school at 3.45pm sharp alright, don't be late! You know the uniform expectations.

Hi Band,

Here's a reminder, please try your very best to stay healthy! The teachers and conductors are trying very hard to get approval for us to perform! Since the conductors and teachers are doing their part, we also should do ours! All these practices and sectionals should not come to a waste right? So, do really take good care. Drink more water and sleep well.

Hello fellow bandmates, I am here to share my views, my expectations, what I am looking forward to in working with the band, and how we together can go to greater heights.

Its such a great opportunity to be a drum major of this wonderful band. On the other hand I understand that it is not going to be an easy job. therefore, I need your 100% co-operation in bringing up the standard of the band. and remember, I am going to put in my best so there is no excuse for you not to!

To start with we need to know that a band,in our case,refers to A GROUP of musicians employing brass, percussion, and often woodwind instruments that plays together. So first, remember each and every action that you do in the band, may affect the whole band either negatively or positively. You have to think twice before acting.second, A GROUP does not act alone. As a band we have to move together as a whole.this is team work. The most important thing in team work here is communication and trust.you have to first trust your teammates before executing orders and carrying things out. And without a good communications within members, everything will be messed up.

And hearing your complains, it is fully understood that band practise can be boring at times, but it is crucial for you to know the objective of every single practise, and work together towards the targeted COMMON goal.follow rules,and stick to it.and together we will excel. And feel free to share your feedback, your opinions and your thoughts.you may approach the conductors, the teachers or seniors. Please inform me if there is anything i carry out that you are not comfortable with. I will do my best to improve.

It is tough to satisfy about 80 plus people at a time, so I need feedack to further improve on certain areas in the band.

To end what i have to say for now, I just have to say that we are going to have a great time working with each other and do not be afraid to face many challenges ahead of you. Together we strive, and be thrilled to unfold your own story in the band with the teachers, conductors and everyone! Enjoy!

Being in the band requires a lot of commitment and resilience. I do feel a little jealous sometimes when my friends can watch television at home and wake up late on Saturdays whereas I still need to wake up early and go for band practice. However, whenever I see our conductors and teachers putting in twice our effort to teach us, all these hard work becomes worthwhile.

I have learnt more than just playing music in the band. Over the years, I have learnt to be more self-disciplined in many aspects of my life. I have learnt to not give up after receiving a scolding. As a result, I learnt from my mistakes and improved to become a better person. I have learnt to work together with my friends, fellow band members, understanding and supporting one another as we work towards our common goal.

I have great passion in Yuying Concert Band. I believe that we can fly high like an eagle in the future and I believe strongly in every member. There is nothing impossible in this world. We just need to stand side by side, support one another and work together as one. One band, one sound!

Hello Band!

Here's the details for tomorrow's chalet;

Venue : Coasta Sands Pasir Ris, chalet nos. Q01 and Q02.
Time : Check in at 2pm.

*Those who do not know how to go, please make your way to White Sand's Macdonald at 2pm to meet us.
You can take bus 53 from school to White Sands Mall. OR take bus 89 from Hougang Interchange.
89 will drive past White Sands Mall. It is a building with 'White Sands' on it, & when you see it, alight the bus and find the Macdonald.

Bring your clothes, or anything you want. But I advise you guys not to bring too expensive valuables or things in case you lose it. Well, tomorrow is the DAY! Enjoy!!! ;DDDD

Before i say my goodbye(s) to the band blog,

On behalf of the Ex-Majors of Year 2008-2009, we'd like to thank the EXCO&SLs of Year 2008-2009 for going through thick and thin of raising up the band as a whole; & sacrificing priceless hours of EXCO meetings&extra hours of band to do... All sorts of band stuffs with us. W/o you all i think the majors will be in mental hospital right now.

We'd also like to thank alllllll the 5 teachers-in-charge for coming down for band early in the morning (when the neighbourhood was still sleeping) to check on the band&the attendance. You have given us ample support and motivation +++ all the lame jokes and funny faces when all of us are stressed.

The conductors, Mr Faizal & Mr Phua, for being there with us, eversince we first laid our little stinky feet into the band room, 4/5 years ago and watch us grow up and be great players of the band. Whoo!

Our parents, who painstakingly find our beds empty each morning. &return from work to find us sleeping at night. &also giving us many many many lovessss and supporttttt, and sometimes even wonder 'How come my child keep on going to school for more band, how come they don't get bored of it one...Aiya'. But then when they watch us play, they'll go 'Woah, eh that's my child!'

Of course Y-O-U; for being very co-operative and turn to be a better person that we are proud to see. On behalf of the graduating batch, thank you for giving us one of our best years in band. All the bickering and the late nights and the screaming and teasing and chasing and the laughing-out-very-loud and the push ups! Great times~

On behalf of the Majors, I'd also like to Congratulate all the new Majors, Secretary, EXCO&SUBCO (Executive com. & Sub Com.) , SLs & the new band members of Yuying Concert Band, the Secondary 1s & some of the new comers of Secondary 2s!

May all of you bring the band to greater heights, for i see potential in all of you! Soon, these tasks will be your daily schedule & you can do everything in a zap! In times of troubles and you need a familiar voice, we'll be there. But I'm sure this new batch should start off just fine~.

Tomorrow is not a band day, but to those who needs to come back, the band room will be open at 9.30AM. Same rules apply in terms of attire because its still a weekday. School might be a little sparse tomorrow, so take care of your valuables etc.

To do list:
1. Arrange your scores according to appearance.
2. Iron your uniforms, find your ribbons (applies to ladies only), shine your boots. All in all, make sure you have a complete set of full band uniform.
3. Sleep early.

Few reminders,

SLs, please collate the number of people going for the Chalet (23rd June) by tomorrow (17th June). Junisa will be going around before combine band starts to accumulate the results.
For future band practices, please come 15minutes earlier to take your temperature before falling in. If you're a late comer, please take your temperature at the G.O or the security guard before joining the band. Automatically, tell Junisa your temperature.
Dress code for band practices should not include FBTs unless instructed. Any other shorts (denim or whatever)/pants are also not allowed.
Late comers should enter the band room by the front door, not the side door, back door, store-room door or whatever imaginative doors you can go through.
2 concerts coming up so far, NYW's (1st Inaugural Concert,$15) & SYF presentation, $5. Don't forget your $$$.

The Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2009 Concert Band Presentation will showcase five local school bands who had achieved excellent results at the SYF 2009 Central Judging of Concert Bands in April and May. The bands performing are from: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Tanjong Katong Girls’ School, Xinmin Secondary School, Anderson Junior College and National Junior College. The concert will present a repertoire of familiar classics including Verdi’s La Forza Del Destino, Strauss II’s Die Fledemaus, Puccini’s Turandot, and Gillingham’s With Heart and Voice. There will also be a combined band presenting the SYF 2009 set pieces, Two Overtures for Wind Band, composed by Dr Kelly Tang. Click here for more information.
